Chores by Age for Kids

Summer is right around the corner and now may be the time to start thinking about having your kids help with chores.  Chores help kids learn responsibility, and sharing chores gives you help around the house.  Here is a list of age-appropriate chores to get started.

To make sure it all goes smoothly, follow these tips when introducing chores:

  • Don't insist on perfection. No one is perfect, and it's better to have a more relaxed approach to how well your kids do their chores.

  • Don't delay. You might think your child is too young, but your kids may be more capable than you think.

  • Don't be stingy with praise. Get that praise going right away!
